The FID STATION PLUS hydrogen and air generator uses the latest proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology to produce pure hydrogen. The hydrogen is ideal for use in gas chromatographic detectors such as FID, NPD, and TCD, and as a reagent gas for ELCD and HALL.

The horizontal format is designed to sit under and support the weight of your GC, optimizing bench space.  At only 17 cm high, the generator will still allow easy access to the injectors of any GC on the market. De-ionized water is automatically loaded from smart internal system tanks with a 3 litre capacity, providing up to 3000 litres of H2 before a refill is required.  The only recommended maintenance is replacement of the internal deionizing cartridge, which has been greatly simplified.

FID Station PLUS models produce an H2 flow of up to  600cc/min with a purity of 6.0, or up to 1000cc/min with a purity of 7.0. The optional zero air generator provides 1.8 l/min or 5 l/min of zero air with HC content around 0.5ppm.

SAVINGS
Hydrogen gas generators eliminate the need for expensive installation of gas pipelines from the cylinder storerooms to the labs, as well as the need to repeatedly change the bottles. The dual configuration H2 or H2 + Air, available in a single instrument, saves space and money.

IMPROVED CHROMATOGRAPHIC RESULTS
Hydrogen as a carrier gas is faster and more sensitive than the more expensive helium, providing run time savings of 25% to 35% without a decline in resolution.

EASY USE AND MAINTAINENCE
The unit features remote software control via RS232, USB, or intranet. With automatic cold dryer regeneration, there are no caustic solutions used. Maintenance is simplified by our deionizer bag access system, which allows changing out the deionizer bag without tools, without even turning off the instrument.

IMPROVED SAFETY
The very small internal volume (less than 50 ml) allows safe use of gas generators where the use of cylinders is risky or prohibited. The application of tested safety technologies stops the unit in the event of leaks or malfunction. An optional hydrogen sensor is available for monitoring the oven-LEL of the GC. The VICI DBS Plus series also includes additional security features like a shock sensor to prompt shutdown in the event of an earthquake.

INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY
Round the clock continuous operation maximizes lab productivity, eliminating dead time for gas bottle changeover and maintenance of the drying system.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Hydrogen is produced by forcing distilled or deionized water through a sophisticated Swiss-made fuel cell. Electrolytic dissociation separates the water into its two main components: hydrogen ready for analytical use, and oxygen that is released into the air. No acid no alkaline solutions are used in the hydrogen generation cycle. The patented automatic drying system ensures the maximum grade of hydrogen purity.
